- You should all be very proud of yourselves. We love and appreciate each of you and look forward to working with you on the CHS stage.
- The casting list was carefully chosen with much thought and deliberation.
- *TBD—to be determined. These male roles will be cast as we proceed in the rehearsal process.
- Understudies—We will have understudies for some roles. Those understudies will be cast early in the rehearsal process.
- All TBD roles can be cast at any time by any cast member, not by asking, but by earning it on stage.
- I know this is a tough process. I applaud you for your commitment and desire to be a part of it. Although the process can be hard, it works, and you have to trust it. Still, if you have questions and need to discuss them with someone, please come see Mr. Lucero on Tuesday, one-on-one, and we’ll have that conversation. Thank you.
- Finally, our first rehearsal begins on Tuesday, September 5 immediately after school until 4pm. We will need all character roles present. Thank you.

Get to know The Drowsy Chaperone....
When a die-hard theatre fan plays his favorite cast album, the characters come to life in this hilarious Tony Award-winning musical farce.
Winner of five Tony Awards, including Best Book and Best Original Score, The Drowsy Chaperone is a loving send-up of the Golden Age musical, featuring one show-stopping song and dance number after another.
With the house lights down, a man in a chair appears on stage and puts on his favorite record: the cast recording of a fictitious 1928 musical. The recording comes to life and The Drowsy Chaperone begins as the man in the chair looks on.
Mix in two lovers on the eve of their wedding, a bumbling best man, a desperate theatre producer, a not-so-bright hostess, two gangsters posing as pastry chefs, a misguided Don Juan and an intoxicated chaperone, and you have the ingredients for an evening of madcap delight. Hailed by New York Magazine as "The Perfect Broadway Musical," The Drowsy Chaperone is a masterful meta-musical, poking fun at all the tropes that characterize the musical theatre genre.
We’re excited to have you as part of our show. Whether you’ve auditioned before, or whether you’re completely new to the process, we invite you to come back to the 1920’s with us and become a part of something special this year. Get ready to break a leg at auditions!
